Invited by the China Cultural Center in Sydney, Australia, an art delegation from southwest China's Guizhou province brought traditional ethnic performances to Sydney and neighboring regions during Chinese New Year.

The delegation started their Australian tour at Circular Quay in Sydney on Feb 9, and went to Nantian Temple Theater in Wollongong on Feb 10.

They also performed at the opening ceremony of the Chinese New Year Lantern Festival in Sydney on Feb 15 and as part of the China village at the Australian International Multicultural Festival from Feb 16 to 17.

Performances such as singing, dancing, musical instruments, and acrobatics were presented in Sydney, Wollongong, and Canberra. Performers from ethnic groups such as the Yi and Miao showcased the lifestyle and traditional culture in Guizhou.

Guizhou is known for its rich and diverse culture, beautiful natural environment, traditional folk arts, and its liquor. Through this tour, the province hoped to share the unique charm of its tourism and promote its relationship with Australia.
